Shocker : Push to reopen Dabo Club after Christmas Night double murder

Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment.  The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. Girl applies ‘Mehandi’ to pass police recruitment drive

A girl candidate thought of a novel way to pass the police recruitment process of Government Railway Police (GRP)! Falling a little short on height, the girl applied ‘Mehandi’ on hairs to meet the desired height of 155 cms during the selection process at Nagpur.

The ‘noval way’ came to fore at GRP Nagpur Headquarters during recruitment drive when an onduty lady constable find hairs of the little different. After checking properly, she noticed that the girl had applied ‘Mehandi’ to meet desired height of the selection process. 

Superintendent of Police (SP) GRP, Nagpur Sahebrao Patil informed the reporters on Wednesday during a press conference. It may be mentioned that a youth had donned a hair wig during recruitment drive of Nashik police last week. 

SP Patil further said that physical test of 5,788 candidates concluded on Tuesday and written test will be conducted on April 15. Those, who will pass the written test, will be called for the medical test and then merit list will be announced, the SP informed. 
On the issue of Rail Roko agitation announced by the Vidarbha Jan-Andolan Samiti, the SP said that the GRP is ready to counter the agitation. “We have activated informers and fixed potions have been identified where force will be deployed in large number,” he said. Additional teams of Quick Response Team (QRT) will also be deployed during the agitation. Additional SP Uttam Rathod, Police Inspector Abhay Panhekar were present in the press conference.

At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers. With their promotion, Maharashtra Government will fill-up the existing vacancies of cadre posts across the State.
