Major reshuffle expected in Maharashtra Police leadership

The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. The frontrunner is Senior IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar is also a strong candidate for the role. Other notable contenders include Thane CP Jaijeet Singh, DG ATS Sadanand Date, DG Police Housing Sandeep Bishnoi, DG Railway Pradnya Sarvade, Additional Director of NIA Atulchandra Kulkarni, and DG State Security Corporation Bipin Kumar Singh, he said. Youth attacked at Wardha Road

A youth was seriously injured when his friends attacked him over old rivalry at Wardha road in Dhantoli area on Saturday.  According to police, Prafulla Rajesh Dhondare (21), a resident of Narendra Nagar, his friend Rohan Bhute (21), were going to home at 3.30 pm. While crossing Wardha road, accused Akash alias Michael, Amol Parad and Nitin Parad, all are residents of Raju Nagar approached the duos and slapped Rohan. He got angered and caught hold collar of Akash. Then, Amol and Nitin hits him with bricks and stones. Prafulla and Rohan sustained injuries in the attack. They were admitted at hospital.  Dhantoli police have registered the case under Section 326 of Indian Penal Code.

API manhandled at Chawla square

An Assistant Police Inspector (API) of Jaripatka Police Station was manhandled by the residents near Chawla square on Saturday. Accused are identified as Sumit Sureshkumar Bhojwani (24), Harshal Suresh Bhojwani (19), Hitesh Prakash Bhojwani (30), Kunal Dhanraj Sahare (26), a resident of Mekosabag, Khrischan colony.  
The Bhojwani family was playing DJ in loudly on the terrace. A vigilent citizen informed the police about the violation of norms. API Keshav Wagh along with staff reached to the spot and asked the Bhojwani family to stop playing music. However, Bhojwani family did not responded to the cop and abused him. The accused also manhandled API Wagh. 
Jaripatka Police have registered the case under Sections 353, 34 of Indian Penal Code read with sub-section 6 (b), 15 (1) Environment Protection Act, sub-section 5, 1 of Noise Pollution Act  and 135 of BPA. 

Eight booked for ruckus

Amabazari police booked eight persons for allegedly creating ruckus at a house on Saturday night.  Accused are identified as Sandip Suresh Ingalo (28), Suraj Yadhnyabhan Vishwakarma, Amit, Gunnu, Babu, Vishal and Raghav. 
According to police, the accused entered in the house of victim Mamata Pritesh Nimje and abused her husband. After abusing the victim, the accused also ransacked their motorcycle. Ambazari police have registered the case under Sections 323, 504, 506, 427, 143, 147 and 149 of Indian Penal Code. 

Land fraud at Wardha Road

An old-aged women duped by a fraudster to the tune of Rs 3.5 lakh by selling property fraudulently. According to police, accused Bhupendra Shankarlal Chailani, Director of Arpan Infrastructure, at Plot No. 17, Ground Floor, Vighnaharta Apartment, Wardha Road lured victim Vandana Dattatrey Nanoti (65), a resident of Plot No. 150, Collector Colony, Godhani Road of cheap plots. Vandana bought tow plots from Chailani one at Devali Gujar village and Pituchuha village and accepted Rs 3.5 lakh from her. Later, Vandana realised that the accused defrauded with her. She lodged a complaint at Mankapur Police Station. The police have registered the case under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code.

Longest cable-stayed bridge to boost tourism at Ambhora

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion. DCP Sunil Kolhe gets IPS cadre

DCP (crime) Sunil Kolhe By Dheeraj Fartode About 28 State Police Service (SPS) officers were granted  Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre on Monday. At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers. With their promotion, Maharashtra Government will fill-up the existing vacancies of cadre posts across the State. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, approved the promotion and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), issued the notification of 28 state police officers into IPS cadre.  Maharashtra Government had earlier empanelled the 28 officers for promotion of SPS officers into IPS and criteria was they should have served for atleast eight years as Superintendent of Police (SP) or Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
