A woman murdered her husband by smashing his head with hammer at their residence in Adiwasi Society in jurisdiction of Sonegaon police station, on Saturday night. A quarrel broke out between the couple as the husband was suspecting fidelity of wife. The woman was reportedly in inebriated condition when she attacked the husband when he retired for night.
According to Sonegaon Police, Gulabsingh Madavi (46), his wife Rani (44) were living at rented premises of Jagdish Golait at Plot No. 47, Adiwasi Society, Narendra Nagar. The duo had two sons but elder son was not living with them.
On Saturday night, the couple were on drinking binge and a quarrel ensued between them. Senior Police Inspector of Sonegaon Police Station Sanjay Pande informed that Rani smashed hammer on head of Gulabsingh when he was sleeping on the bed. Four injuries were detected on the head of Gulabsingh,” said PI Pande.
After hearing quarrel, neighbours asked Rani to open the door. The neighbours noticed body of Gulabsingh lying on the bed and blood oozing from his head. The neighbors promptly informed Sonegaon Police about the incident. The cops rushed to the spot and took Rani in their custody. The cops have seized hammer from the spot.
Accused wife told the police that Gulabsingh used to suspect her fidelity and this was the only reason behind the murder. Her son Krishna was gone somewhere at the time of incident. The police have registered the case under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code. Further investigation is on.
