Major reshuffle expected in Maharashtra Police leadership

The State Home Department in Maharashtra is gearing up for a significant overhaul of its top police leadership, including the position of Director General of Police (DGP) and Police Commissioners of Nagpur and Thane. The impending retirement of the current DGP, Rajnish Seth, on December 31 has prompted the department to commence the process of selecting his successor.A top rank official said that several prominent names have emerged as contenders for the esteemed position of State DGP. The frontrunner is Senior IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla, who currently serves as the Director General (DG) of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar is also a strong candidate for the role. Other notable contenders include Thane CP Jaijeet Singh, DG ATS Sadanand Date, DG Police Housing Sandeep Bishnoi, DG Railway Pradnya Sarvade, Additional Director of NIA Atulchandra Kulkarni, and DG State Security Corporation Bipin Kumar Singh, he said. Make BJP the world’s biggest political party: Danve

Exhorting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers for membership drive, BJP state president Raosaheb Danve on Thursday laid before them the road map for reaching out to masses with good work done by party Government in Centre and in State. Setting the target the new State chief said we intend to make BJP the world’s biggest political party. “We have to enroll one crore party members in the State and 10 crore in the country to reach the target and surpass Chinese Communist Party's base of eight crore members, he further said.
Addressing party workers here, Danve further said, Government employees can become party members in China, however it is not so in India. He asked party workers to take the assignment on priority basis.
Former MP and senior BJP leader Banwarilal Purohit, Member of Rajya Sabha, Ajay Sancheti, BJP’s State Organising Secretary, Ravindra Bhusari, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mayor Pravin Datke, City unit chief and MLA Krishna Khopde, District Cheif Dr Rajiv Potadar, MLAs Dr Milind Mane, Sudhakar Kohale, Sudhir Parwe, Ashish Deshmukh, Sameer Meghe, Mallikarjun Reddy, MLC Anil Sole, ZP President Nisha Savarkar, Girish Vyas, Sanjay Bhende, Ashok Mankar and others were present on the dais.
The newly appointed State president stated that the party would take care of its active party workers. The party would take action against its Ministers if they do not pay attention towards grievances of party workers. Recalling old days, Danve said he used to travel 65 km per day on bi-cycle for enrollment of party members and cautioned party workers not to take good days for granted.
Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that people have lot of expectation from BJP-Sena Government and party would take all efforts to fulfill the promises. All ministers of State Government are working hard resolve all issues but it will take some time as former Congress-NCP Government had thoroughly bankrupted the State treasury,” said Bawankule. The membership will directly help party workers in upcoming election of local self government bodies.
City unit chief Krishna Khopde said that the unit would take all efforts to break last record of three lakh members. “The unit have planned target of six lakh members and 2.35 lakh has already enrolled,” he said. The party workers had worked hard in the last elections and that resulted in party winning all seats in the city. Dr Rajiv Potdar said, the party had enrolled 1.5 lakh members last time and this time the figure will go upto five lakh.

Longest cable-stayed bridge to boost tourism at Ambhora

CONSTRUCTION work of 700-metre-long cable-stayed bridge, longest in the country, with a viewing gallery at the top at Ambhora in Kuhi tehsil is near completion. DCP Sunil Kolhe gets IPS cadre

DCP (crime) Sunil Kolhe By Dheeraj Fartode About 28 State Police Service (SPS) officers were granted  Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre on Monday. At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers. With their promotion, Maharashtra Government will fill-up the existing vacancies of cadre posts across the State. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, approved the promotion and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), issued the notification of 28 state police officers into IPS cadre.  Maharashtra Government had earlier empanelled the 28 officers for promotion of SPS officers into IPS and criteria was they should have served for atleast eight years as Superintendent of Police (SP) or Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
