Shocker : Push to reopen Dabo Club after Christmas Night double murder

Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment.  The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. State government have effected the transfers of 90 senior police officers including 60 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 20 State Police Services (SPS) officers, including that of Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Saxena from Nagpur. Anup Kumar Singh, who was Special IG of state Anti-Naxal operation (ANO), has been brought in place of Saxena. 
Saxena will take up his new posting as Special Inspector General Force 1 at Mumbai. Chandra Kishore Mina and Sanjay Darade, who were Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCPs) of Zone III and Zone IV respectively, are posted as Superintendent of Police (SP) Akola and Yavatmal respectively. 
DCP (Special Branch) Ramanath Pokale has been transferred as SP Washim. Nirmala Devi, who was posted as SP Washim, has been posted as DCP Nagpur. DCP Amravati Sanjay Latkar has been appointed as DCP Nagpur city. DCP (CID Nagpur) Paurnima Gaikwad has been posted as SP (Crime Branch) Navi Mumbai. 
Suvez Haque, who held the post of SP Gadchiroli, has been posted as  as SP Palghar. SP Parbhani Sandip Patil will take up new assignment of naxal affected Gadchiroli district. 
Additional SP of Napgur Rural Prakash Jadhav has been appointed as as SP Anti-corruption, Nagpur. SP Gondia D K Zalke transferred as Commndnant of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF Group IV). 
Prushottam Karad, who was Additional SP of Amravati, has been transferred to SP, Force 1. The transferred officer are likely to take up their new assignment before August 5 as Director General of police Conference is scheduled on Tuesday and the officers should have to report at the conference.

DCP Sunil Kolhe gets IPS cadre

DCP (crime) Sunil Kolhe By Dheeraj Fartode About 28 State Police Service (SPS) officers were granted  Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre on Monday. At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers. With their promotion, Maharashtra Government will fill-up the existing vacancies of cadre posts across the State. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, approved the promotion and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), issued the notification of 28 state police officers into IPS cadre.  Maharashtra Government had earlier empanelled the 28 officers for promotion of SPS officers into IPS and criteria was they should have served for atleast eight years as Superintendent of Police (SP) or Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
