Shocker : Push to reopen Dabo Club after Christmas Night double murder

Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment.  The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. Mahagenco files police complaint against coal washery operators

Accusing coal washery operators with embezzeling 6.16 lakh metric tonne coal worth Rs 122 crore, Maharashtra State Power Generatioon Company Limited (MSPGC) has filed a complaint with Sadar police against six operators requesting to register offence against them for criminal breach of trust, forgery, cheating and fraud. 
According to Mahagenco, the washery operators were engaged to wash and minimize the ash content in coal received from Western Coalfields Limited, South Eastern Coalfields Limited, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited and the alleged discrepancy took place during 2009 to 2011. The contract with washery operators was terminated in August 2012 and their bank guarantee was confiscated. It was followed by long and bitter legal proceedings between Mahagenco and washery operators and matter is pending before the Supreme Court. 
Mahagenco claimed that operators did not supply the recoup quantity of coal to the tune of 5.64 lakh metric tonne and balance quantity of raw coal lying with operators to the tune of 52,454 MT due to non-fulfillment of required parameters and as such 6.16 lakh MT tonne coal belonging to Mahagenco tantamount to various offences. 
The Mahagenco has named M/s Gupta Coalfields and &Washeries Ltd, Nagpur; M/s ACB (India) Ltd formerly M/s Aryan Coal & Benefication Pvt Ltd; M/s Indo Unique Flame Ltd, Nagpur; M/s Bhatia International Ltd, Indore and Nagpur; M/s Spectrum Coal&Power Ltd, New Delhi and Hyderabad; M/s Global Coal &Mining Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon in the complaint. The Mahagenco has given bifurcation of coal lifted by each of the washery operator from three coal utilities, actual coal supplied and balanced raw coal not liquidated to substantiate its allegations. 
Mahagenco alleged that washery operators have not come forward to sign the joint reconciliation statement and also failed to liquidate the raw coal stock holding with them and thus they have cheated Mahagenco and State of Maharashtra. The complainant claimed that washery operators lifted more quantity and supplied less than the agreed recoup quantity and one-sided calculations were done by Mahagenco in May 2012 and later decision to encash bank guarantee of washery operators was taken. Sadar Police has registered the complaint but yet to file FIR against non-applicants named in the criminal complaint filed by Mahagenco on Saturday.

DCP Sunil Kolhe gets IPS cadre

At Nagpur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime) Sunil Kolhe is among these officers.
