Life defeats in love

  • When Amir got to know about Juhi's plan he was shell shocked. He tried in vain to avoid the break-up but Juhi was firm about her career choice

By Dheeraj Fartode

A youth shot himself to death, grieving for his love. Amir Ali Arif Ali (22) committed suicide at his brother-in-law's residence in Utkarsha Nagar, near Friends Colony, Katol Road, just past Saturday midnight, said the police.

Gittikhadan police who rushed to spot said that the youth, a collegian, used a century old gun, belonging to his grandfather, to shoot himself on the chest. The incident occurred around 12.15 am when a dejected Amir opened the gun on himself in the bathroom. He was staying with his brother-in-law, Mohd Farukh Abdul Aziz, plot no. 20/C, Pioneer Regency.

The family had not heard the gun shot as the sound got muffled. Farukh's daughter, Rimsha (10), woke-up around midnight and found the bathroom door locked when she went to answer nature's call. She informed her father who broke down the door and found Amir lying in pool of blood. The profusely bleeding Amir was rushed to Wockhardt Hospital at Shankar Nagar, where he succumbed to gun shot at five minutes past three in early morning.
Suicide in love

The family member said that Amir was to marry Juhi, his long time girl friend. They were knowing each other since last few years and the two families had also approved the match. During start of the year Juhi shifted to New Delhi with family and the two still kept in touch.

In between, Juhi completed a course of Air Hostess and started avoiding Amir's calls. She was now more interested in pursuing a career in hospitality while Amir who had been dreaming of their life post marriage went into depression, the family told the police.

When Amir got to know about Juhi's plan he was shell shocked. He tried in vain to avoid the break-up but Juhi was firm about her career choice. As distance between the two grew too much, Juhi asked Amir to forgot herself. But that was not to be the case.

Finally when Juhi started avoiding taking calls from Amir, the youth was totally dejected and he finally made-up his mind to end his life, the police surmise. Gittikhadan police have registered a case of accidental death. They have seized mobile handset and the gun from the spot. Further investigations are on.

IGP Prasanna : The man who stopped Obama’s convoy

IGP Mallikarjuna Prasanna By Dheeraj Fartode  Published on Feb/17/2019 NOT many are aware of an episode during the then US President Barack Obama’s visit to India in 2010. The world’s most powerful man was made to wait for 11 minutes in his car while an Indian cop took on American officials for their unwarranted interference in the US President’s security. KM Mallikarjuna Prasanna, Special Inspector General of Police of Nagpur Range, still continues to work with the same pride, wearing his patriotism on the sleeve. “Had they (Americans) deployed their personnel for area security, then the message would have been Indians are unable to protect VIPs in their nation,” recounted Prasanna on the episode that is one of the highlights of his distinguished career of a skillful investigator. The story of the IPS officer of 2000 batch is worth a film. In fact, a movie (Nagarjun-starrer ‘Officer’) has already been made by Ram Gopal Verma last year. His real life script also ha

It is set to open doors of development for the backward area of Kuhi and Umred tehsil. Ambhora, located 75 km from Nagpur city, is a famous religious and tourist place in Vidarbha. It is situated at the confluence of five rivers -- Wainganga, Kanhan, Aam, Kolari and Murza. Just around a decade ago the river bank housing Ambhora used to see a flux of tourists from all over the State. However, the banks were submerged in water after the construction of Gosikhurd dam which led to rise in water levels. Since then, tourist flow at Ambhora has also declined. However, now with the construction of the new bridge tourists will get a chance see the scenic backwaters across the river bed which is
