A Village Burnt Overnight: Tears, Loss and Survival in Dhamangaon Blaze

Quartet abducted woman, attempts unnatural sex


In a heinous crime, three youths abducted a woman and then forcefully attempted unnatural sex with her on Saturday evening from a very busy area. The shocking incident was reported from the jurisdiction of Dhantoli police station when the woman was searching for a place to answer nature’s call.

Accused have been identified as Venkatesh Narayan Mudliyar, Mohan Narayan Mudliyar, Rajesh Narayan Mudliyar, all residents of Sitabuldi and an unknown driver who have been charged with abduction and attempting unnatural sex. A police officer said that Asha (30) (name changed), a resident of Kausalya Nagar and a vendor, was abducted by the quartet, near Janki talkies lane on Saturday evening at around 6.45 pm to gratify their unnatural lust.
The quartet then forcefully took her near mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and between the journey the accused forced her to perform unnatural sex. Using brute force, the accused threatened the victim with dire consequences, if she dare raise her voice and alert passers-by.

According to victim Asha, she arrived at Morbhavan bus stand on Saturday evening after selling some goods at Mankapur area. Somehow she lost her way found herself at Munje square and again turned towards Variety square. To answer nature’s call, she turned towards Janki talkies lane. In her report Asha said that the quartet suddenly appeared from nowhere in a red coloured Santro (MH-31/DG-9399) car on the spot. Three of them alighted from the car and pushed Asha into the car. Vyankatesh held her down in a car and the car speedily went towards GMCH. In the meantime Vyankatesh attempted unnatural sex with Asha and others encouraged him to satiate his lust and carnal desire.
The quartet pushed down Asha from car and fled from the spot. After three hours of incident, the woman reached at Ajni police station and narrated incident to senior officers. Ajni police took her to Dhantoli police station since the incident occurred in their jurisdiction.
Dhantoli police have registered a case under sections 365, 377 and 34 of IPC. Cops have launched manhunt for arrest of accused.

Cop said that Asha has two daughters and her husband is not living with her. During preliminary investigations, the cops have come across some disturbing facts. According to details gathered by the cops about antecedents of the accused and how come the victim landed at Janki Talkies square from Mor Bhavan, they were informed about close connection between accused Vyankatesh and victim Asha.
According to police sources, the accused had established illicit relationship with Asha since last eight years and he used to blackmail her on the basis of a videoshooting containing some intimate scenes. Sources also confirmed that offenses against Vyanketesh were registered in the past with Sitabuldi and other police stations.
