Sitting amid the blackened remains of his home, 32-year-old Nikesh Gawali carefully broke open a half-melted plastic box with a screwdriver. His hands shook slightly, not out of fear, but out of hope. “I’m trying to find my daughter Aarti’s gold earrings,” he said quietly, still focused on the box. “She’s just five. The truck was coming from Nagpur and was heading towards the Jabalpur while the bus drive took a turn for Parsheoni when the collision occurred, the police concurred after the spot inspection. The bus was dragged for nearly 50 feet by the truck which eye witnesses said was being driven at menancing speed. The bus came to halt after the truck dashed into a gas tanker (NL-01/K-6671) parked by road side. However by that time the truck had lost the speed and hence the impact of crash into tanker did not explode into another big tragedy.
