CRPF's good work ensures the force to continue anti-naxal operation with Maharashtra Police By Dheeraj Fartode Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) would continue to marshal the naxal infested Gadchiroli district. Central Government has dropped its idea of replacing the central force with another command, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Union Home Ministry reversed its decision and decided to walk with Maharashtra Government which wanted continuation of CRPF in the State. As per plan, ITBP was to take over anti-naxal operations in Gadchiroli from 2015. The Home Department of Maharashtra Government conveyed its position on the matter, spelling out a convincing argument that it's better to continue with present arrangement. In a move aimed at improving the quality of investigation in ‘sessions triable cases’ and boost conviction rate in the State, Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjeev Dayal has issued order to form separate ‘Investigation Wing’ at all police stations from July 1.  Dayal confirmed the development and told ‘The Hitavada’ that the move would definitely make an impact. As per the order issued on May 24, each police station shall have a separate Investigation Wing that will be entrusted with the ‘exclusive dedicated responsibility’ of investigation in all sessions cases registered at such police stations. ‘The Hitavada’ has in possession a copy of DGP’s standing order no. 24 of 2015. Through the order, the DGP has given time till July 1 to all the units to take ‘necessary action’ to disseminate instructions and prepare police stations. The statistics with Nagpur City Police reveal some shocking acts committed by juveniles. In last three years and City Police have booked 1281 juvenile delinquents for committing serious crimes. Every year more than 400 juveniles were booked for crimes like murder, rape, robberies, dacoities in city limits.
