Shocker : Push to reopen Dabo Club after Christmas Night double murder

Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment.  The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. Police bandobast for Independence Day

A strong police bandobast of more than 2,500 police personnel will be deployed across the city on Independence Day. Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar has instructed all police station in-charges to intensify patrolling in their jurisdictions especially at crowded places from Saturday evening.
A police official informed that main markets and armed police personnel would be deployed in Civil Lines, Sadar, Ambazari, Tekdi Road, Sitabuldi, Mominpura, Telangkhedi Lake and other places. The police will also pay special attention to 16 vital installations including railway stations.
Nakabandi was enforced in the city from Saturding morning and vehicles are being checked by the police personnel. Mobile surveillance vehicles (MSV) will also be used for monitoring of traffic by drones. Traffic police have been instructed to not allow illegal vehicle marches by any groups or organisations.
CP Amitesh Kumar said that strict security measures would be taken by the police to ensure a peaceful Independence Day. Hotels and lodges are being inspected. Citizens should report any suspicious activity to the police control room or local police, the CP appealed.
