Shocker : Push to reopen Dabo Club after Christmas Night double murder

Dabo club Nagpur Efforts to reopen the controversial Dabo Club, which was shut down for 45 days following the murder of two young men, have triggered strong anger and fear among the families of the victims. The incident took place in the early hours of December 26 last year during a Christmas party at Dabo Club. Pranav Ranavare (27) was allegedly killed after a minor dispute. His friend, Gaurav Karda (34), was badly injured in the same incident and later died during treatment.  The Sonegaon police arrested six accused - Soumya Deshmukh, Mehul alias Monu Rahate, Rajiv Chawla, Abhay Jhamtani, Gappu Sharma and Tushar Nankani. All the accused are currently lodged in jail. The club is owned by Directors Devyani Vijay Wadettiwar, Karan Vikram Thakkar and Mohd Hamza Rayeen. Thunderstorm lashes Nagpur, City plunges into darkeness

City plunged into darkness after powerful thunderstorm accompanied by winds gusting at over 50 kmph lashed city on Sunday. Power outages were reported in almost 80 per cent area of Nagpur power lines were snapped at more than 30 spots.   Teams of Spanco Nagpur Discom Ltd (SNDL) and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) had started restoration work but electric supply was not restored to many areas as damage was severe. 

As per the reports, key area like Wardhaman Nagar, Gandhibag, Mahal, Pardi, Dighori, Sakkardara, Vishwakarma Nagar, Medical Square, Hudkeshwar, Sonegaon, Pratap Nagar, Ambazari, Bharat Nagar, Hindustan colony, Ramdaspeth, Dhantoli, North Ambazari Road, Dharampeth, Civil Lines, Sitabuldi, Jaripatka, Shanti Nagar and some parts of Sadar plunged into darkness for more than two hours. Power supply was closed in many areas as precautionary measures after the thunderstorm lashed the city at around 6 pm. After subsiding of the thunderstorm, the officials noticed severe damage to power infrastructures across the city as power lines were snapped due falling tree branches on power lines. The SNDL and MSEDCL sprang into action with emergency teams attending to reports about fallen trees. 

Power supply to many areas in city were restored till 8.30 pm. However, power break-down was reported in Bharat Nagar, Hindustan Colony, Amravati Road area after 8.30 pm after power supply failure from Amravati Raod. Another major break-down reported at 33 KV power feeder at Medical square due to which supply to South Nagpur was affected and it was not restored till late night. 
A MSEDCL spokesperson said that power supply was restored in many areas and their teams are working for full restoration. A SNDL spokesperson claimed that electric supply restored to 80 per cent area and the teams are handling individual complaints.

DCP Sunil Kolhe gets IPS cadre
